The Xbox Full Screen Experience (FSE) is officially rolling out to Windows 11 handheld gaming PCs and is now available in preview for Windows 11 laptops, desktops, and tablets.

On Windows handhelds, FSE delivers major performance improvements and the option to boot directly into Xbox, creating a smoother, more console-like experience. The goal is simple: reduce friction, tighten load times, and get players into their games as fast as possible.

For traditional Windows 11 PCs, the new FSE introduces a fully controller-friendly, immersive full-screen dashboard. Players can browse and launch games across all their libraries — including titles from top PC storefronts — without ever touching a mouse or keyboard. A built-in Task Switcher makes it easy to jump between games and apps instantly, creating a streamlined, console-style experience on any PC.
